We found this fantastic site which shows how NZ can get to Zero emissions using different levers. We encourage you to have a play, but you will see forestry is of key importance. Especially play with the carbon price lever and see what effect this has on the goal.

We found it interesting to see the various potential pathways along with how long some took to reach the goal of zero emissions. Have a go and adjust the scales to assess what is required, as an example; scroll higher for more production forestry and exotic forestry and lower the carbon price, or alternate between the options then increase the number of years it will take to reach our national goal.
It’s a great tool to work out in your own minds how we need to meet our goal of 0% carbon emissions.
